I believe they are cheaper at modacar.com.... but Spoon wheels are suppose to be 9 pds/rim I think... Rota slipstreams (a knock off the spoon wheels) are suppose to be 15pds...

im think i will gain 5-6-7 horses at the wheels,
not sure tho,thats alot of unsprung wheight=better handling, braking, and accelarating thats a good performance upgrade. better than losing hp to 17's or 18's.

Wait till Grant gets into this thread.... he'll tear it apart! ;) He's big on weight reduction...

my god , 750 a peice for black wheels that 90% of people will think are cheap crappy tire steel wheels. umm no thanks :) you gonna gain 5 hp after spending umm how much money? Install a nitrous kit for the price of 1 rim, I dunno, Im not crazy about those! especially for that price!!!

speed haha

Well due to reduced unsprung weight you will have better acceleration and handling.. but like Rob said, the cost/gain ratio wrt to accelaration is outrageous. For $3K you could almost install a turbo.. I wouldn't get these unless I was filthy rich or I auto-x and track race every weekend. Then I could justify the improved handling.

for 3 grand I could buy a 89 Civic with a B16 swap. gut it and use that as your track car and beater!
750 a rim + tire = over 3 grand.

The benifit's for that cash in Wheel terms is not that great. SH =19.7 - 11 = 8.7 add the extra tire weight cause your going with a smaller rim + 3 pounds = 5.7 overall. With the same money you can go with a really expensive 17 inch in the 15lbs range save on tire weight and hit a 10 lbs savings.

The spoon come in 16's,but lat's say u where buying 17' or 18' inch rims for looks only, u be spending 450 a rim and u would have less hp. so 2000 on rims 1000 on tires u got 3000 bucks, 16'inch spoon rims look good perform well and cheaper on tires in the long run. would u rather buy tires for 18's or 16's

15" = 3.8kg = 8lbs ea.US$325.
16" = 5.2kg = 11lbs ea.US$425.-

Grant is the king of procrastination when it comes to personal weight reduction. I kept buggin him to go to the gym and play raquetball with me... I'm still waiting! :mad:
If you don't mind those rims in a white, silver, grey, or polished colour. Go for the Regamaster EVO's. This is the company who actually makes the SW388's for Spoon, and the price is slightly better.

Spoon mainly rebadges their bolt-on stuff. They're big product is race engines and tuning.

Do u now how much u would have to pay for 17's or 18's in volk TE37 with good tires lot more than 3000$, Now the volk are nice rime but the choice would be a volk in a 16(volk,spoon,SSR,advan,ragamasterEVO,ect) are all nice rims.

Actually I believe that a 15" tire weighs less than a 17" tire.

i like the look, how want's 3 cars anyway....
WOW...the gun metal ones diffenately look better than the all black ones...still to rich for my blood.
I would rather go with Rota Slipstream (www.rotawheels.com) for about $1000 for 17".
Jarek

Yes knock-offs are fine if all you want is the look, but I believe charles wants the weight savings on each corner.
i'm lookin for rims myself too and despite the attractive quality of how light these are... i just cant come to appreciate the look.

i t hink i'll be going 17' in the spring.....
16' is too little
18' is too heavy
so some lightweight 17's will do
anyone have any recommendations?

These Mugen MF10 are pretty light too.
http://importheart.com/Wheels/Mugen.htm
I like the SW388, to the untrained eye they are ugly, but to the trained eye they possess pure form for the function.
Less bling more sling.

The MF10's are one of my favorites too. They got a really high (+50) offset, but too bad they don't make a bolt pattern to fit the 4th Gen.
