i don't want to sound like an asshole, but if you connect the positive to the positive (which kinda doesn't sound right to me, but i'm not an expert), then by deduction, since there are only two terminals and one is now taken up, the only other place to put the negative would be on...the negative terminal? :D

you need to charge until you can get your car started at least. after that it's just a matter of using your motor as a generator to recharge your battery. i jump started my friend's car 3 years ago but i hvaen't touched that stuff since... sorry that i'm not much help

look in your manual, it even has nice pics... i think it goes + to + and then - to anything metal, i usually use that metal loop thingy thats sticking up on the 5th gen...

but don't hook it up to the negative on the car that needs boosting, or you could ignite a fire... dont worry bak, you sound more like dumbass than asshole ;)

always here to help. remember to wash your car with steel wool. nothing gets dust off your paint better than good old metal sheep extract.

Huh? Ignite a fire how? I've always boosted cars terminal to terminal without a problem. You just mean that it sparks sometimes or am I missing something?

no, the cable will spark no matter where you hook it up but car batteries give off hydrogen which is very flammable. i'm not saying it happens often but it does happen, and I really don't usually want something blowing up where I'm reaching...

so one more question. When I charging the bettery, are both cars must be shunt off ?

the car u r getting the boost from should be off.....and then when the cables are connected, just start up ur car.

well, I will try to connect the wires tomorrow morning, cause I have a apointment for normal maintaines for 70,000 mileage. I just afraid if I start the car suessfuly , and it automaticly shunt down on HW7, then I will so piss off. haha hope my car who shunt down in the middle of the road.

Your car is shutting down while driving? That's your alternator...not your battery...if your alternator is busted or is charging really low, your car is forced to run everything under power from the battery. The battery is only for starting your car and running stuff when it is off, so if it is shutting down while driving it's most likely alternator...

You're better off jumping the car, testing the current from the alternator and just ordering the part...trying to drive your car with a broken alternator is such a waste of time, everytime you slow down your car will shut down. If you do try to drive...make sure everything electronic you have is turned off.

o... well, I'm not sure if my car will shunt down while driving tomorrow. Cause this morning I try to get out but the motor won't start. So I think it's the bettery. Hope it's not the alternator casting problems, orelse I have to call the tow truck. And that sucks. Do honda have their own tow truck ?

There is always a possibility you may ignite a fire when boosting, but this usually happens when the vehicle is cold and then the temperature increases. Sometimes gases from the battery can be realeased and ignited.
The main reason why you conect the negative lead of the dead battery to grounded piece of the body is not to bend the plates inside the battery and to protect the car's BCM and ECM. Always when boosting, it is better to first try without the engine running. In this case you have 12 volts going to the dead battery. If that does not work, then start the car and try. In this case the car battery is receiving 14.4 Volts.
