when u bolt in the sway bar to the left side, there is this group of wires that clip together....the bar doesnt seem to fit over it without rubbing....

dude I think you meant the strut tower bar, if so then yes there is a bracket that these group of wires (Attached to 3 harness') hooks on to. I used a strut bar from a 4th gen on my car so I had to unclip the three harnesses from the bracket, bend the bracket out of the way and attach the harneses to the tower bar with some plastic ties.

yeah you can bend the bracket, but you have to unclip the plastic harnesses from the bracket first. once you bend the bracket out of the way and install the bar, the bracket is pretty much useless, so that why I attached the wiring to the strut bar so that they dont move around

Do you have to torque the bolts to a proper spec? If so, what is the torque spec for a 2001?

NOOOOOO don't do that...there is a proper spec you have to tighten them with a torque wrench!! I am asking about torque specs in this thread http://www.hondaprelude.to/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1870

That might not be a great idea... you are trying to set the bar up so that the stress from one tower gets transfered to the other tower in a turn. Tightening the strut bar and stressing both towers constantly is probably not going to help your car much...

Yo Ludacris here's your answer...courtesy of LUDED:

It's the same for the 4th Gen, and every other Honda out on the road. But if your re-using the old bolts, I would torque them down to about 35 ft lbs because the locking nut (look at the bottom of the nut) has been worn.

really....this bar is different from others i have seen....it pretty much adjusts length wise, so when u tighten the bolts down, the actual bar still spins around...so thats why im gonna spin it till it dont spin no more.

I know what you mean...
But.. My opinion would be to spin it until it just stops and then tighten down the lock nuts. Don't torque that bar so it starts pulling the towers together...
