Strut bar, how tight is too tight

I was woundering how tight can i make my strut bar, and if there is a point where it might be to tight?

I know you have to tourque it but.. I am not sure to what.

assuming you're talking about the mounting points on the shock tower:
find the manual and torque the nuts to spec. too loose and they come off, too tight and you might strip or break the bolts.

if you have an adjustable strut bar that lets you lengthen it, then take it off and toss it away since it's probably quite weak in that area.

It's actually 28 pounds (check the Helms manual on page 18-22)... I actually mine up to 30 pds to get rid of shock knock in the rear.
