View Full Version : Detailing day on Sept 27th...

Jen (aka grlielude) has graciously offered her place so we can detail our cars. It's probably a good time to wax our cars before the cool weather hits too. I expect a long day for those who will be doing a REALLY thorough job. So the day will probably start early in the morning (like 8am) and go on till dusk...

When I mean thorough, I mean these steps will be needed to be done.

- Wash car with dish soap to remove old wax.
- Wash engine bay.
- Dry thoroughly.
- Clay bar entire car.
- Apply swirl remover (maybe more than 1 coat)
- Touch up any spots.
- Apply wax (some of us use Zainos which has 3-4 stages) which could be more than 1 coat.

It seems easy enough but it's definitely an all dayer.

Here is a couple of rules though...
- you bring your own supplies and don't expect anyone to give you some of theirs (although some are very kind to share)... basically don't come empty handed expecting someone to take care of you.
- Bring money or food. Jen has a BBQ so we can eat.
- Of course, it goes without saying but be respectful to Jen's house.

Why at Jen's? She has 3 garages that we can use. We can take turns using the garage at various stages of detailing.

I'm thinking about doing Saturday Sept 27th, if everyone is cool with it (especially Jen) and if weather permits. This is open to members only and I'll post details on how to get to Jen's place shortly.

Actually, maybe next Saturday seeing that we might have to install some springs this Saturday. This give the opportunity for some peeps to get some cleaning products. TJ, I would pick up some compound for that eggs stain...

I guess you didn't read my thread Cory... Probably 8am. So I doubt you'll get anything done if you came after 6pm.
