A little story about next level hi- performance
My buddy had a Ls/vtec swap in a 99 civic si. He blew the b16 with nitrous and got a ls block put in at lightspeed. Well anyways back to the story. He then goes to spinning a rod bearing in the ls block. So he goes to next level just to see if he can get the b18 block fixed. Well shane recommended him to get a b20 and go b20/vtec. So he agreed. Well this all started when they actually had the shop. So shane said he had to find a block then he would let him know. so a week goes buy and shane said he found a b20 its the whole motor and he was going to buy it from Chuck at adrenaline. well 2 weeks go by shane says he picked up the motor and his car would be done in 2 days. So 2 days goes by shane still doesnt have it done. So my buddy calls chuck just to ask him if he has a b20 and he says yes I have one. he asked him how long he had it and he said oh for awhile but it might be sold, shane wants it. So 2 more weeks go by and his car still isnt ready. So he finally gets ahold of shane, this is after his cell phone gets shut off and by buddy has to call charlie to get ahold of shane. Ok he says he got the motor from peak and it has 10.5 compression and crower rods. So my buddy calls peak and they told him that shane picked that block up 2 months ago and he bounced a check for it and he still owes them the money. So he gets the car back and it throws a cel and the code is because there is not a knock sensor. well the b20 doesnt have a knock sensor so he has the car check out and come to find out its only a b18. My buddy has it in writing that it should be a b20. The reason he didnt know in the first place because all the vin numbers and engine codes are sanded off the block. so if you were in his shoes would you sue?

heh.....sounds all too familiar...

Honestly, I'm swallowing my loss and just paying what its gonna take to fix it -- a law suit for anything less than $10k just isn't worth the headache.

I'm not gonna say that on STLSR -- I want Shane to think that there is a possibility of a law suit, but I feel comfortable saying it here.

The part about it that is messed up is he already had a ls/vtec setup and all the block needed was new rod bearings so maybe 4-500 to get it fixed. instead he paid 1400 for this b20vtec setup and he ended up with the same thing.

I have a hard time trusting any shops around here. I'd rather take a week off and drive up to King Motorsports or something.
