Hey guys,

The TPC (Toronto Prelude Club) have a tradition every year to wind down the year and have an End of Year supper. It's usually a great opportunity to take time out of their busy schedule and meet up for supper and drinks afterwards. I would like to start this tradition down here in St. Louis...

I'm thinking of having this in mid November (after dyno day but before Thanksgiving) but I want to see if everyone can make it. Since D & B was pretty fun last weekend, I think it would be a great place to have supper and hang out there for the night. The dates in November I am looking at are 8, 15, and 22nd. Does any of these days better or worse for you guys? I really want everyone to come and 'friends' of the STLPC are welcome as well.

Keith

Edit.. List so far if we have it on Nov 22;

Keith
Laura
James
Keith (tall)
Chris
Cory
Bill
Timothy (aka TJ)
Jen

Mike
Steve

I'll be out of town on Nov. 8th, but the 15th and 22nd should be fine for me.

22nd should be fine by me. Don't know if it costs, but I believe we can reserve a room at D&B too.

Jacques

Before I can check on booking, can we get an approximate headcount on how many are going?

Keith

OK, checking on this a little more...I need to know from everyone, do you guys want a buffet, or a regular menu? The buffet varies in prices depending on what we want, but it is generally higher a person than a regular menu ($13.95/person to $26.95/person).

Keith

Buffet sounds good James...

That's one for you (and Laura too I assume). Anyone else for a buffet?

Edit: Even if everyone agrees for a buffet, this is not set in stone, of course. The events rep hasn't told me if there's additional costs (ie: event space) yet.

Keith

Buffet is good since it will have a bit of everything and as much as we want. Maybe see if we can have good price on drinks too.

Here's the latest on D&B. Room space "rental" is $15/hour (that shouldn't be a problem). However, for our size group, they are booked up for 11/22. I will get in touch with the even coordinator in the next day to see if we can be on a waiting list of some kind. Also, a buffet-style dinner is a $200 minimum (food & drink), but since we do not have a room, a regular menu would be offered on short notice (same minimum applies). There's other amenities, but it all hinges IF we get a room.

The alternative is to eat elsewhere nearby. Being that everyone has different tastes/likes in food, some place iwth food similar to D&B would be ideal. From there, we can still head to D&B for games. Any ideas would be great!

Thanks James. The only problem I have with eating off the 'party premises' is that I'm sure some peeps are gonna want to drink during supper so I would prefer to keep everything under one roof.

we could eat at one of the places on main street in st. charles then go to dave and busters. That is litterly 5 minutes from d&b

My only concern (as medium Keith pointed out to me) is, though it is close, if people are drinking during dinner, then driving over.

It's not like we are going to get a buffet or a special event's room at another restaurant anyhow... let's stick to D & B. Sorry TJ! No buffet! :(

TJ
11-10-2003, 02:19 PM

Keith

TJ

we should do this earlier since A we have a large crowd so it will probably be 2 hours before we get a table and B gives me more time to play the Ferrari game!

FYI, after checking with D&B, they do not do reservations ahead of time. It's first come, first served.

Keith
11-14-2003, 12:31 AM
 gimme a break... we are just going to show up with 15-20 people and expect to eat asap?
