Detroit Car Show?

As we end a this year, we begin a new one which usually means the local car shows start to pop up in various cities. I usually like to attend these car shows to see new models and concept cars as well as get great deals from vendors. Anybody who has been to the STL car show knows that there are bigger and better ones out there. Keith (TK) and I were discussing the possiblity of going to the Detroit car show. It's easily one of the largest car show in North America since it's held in Motor City. It's an 8 hour drive, which we could rent a van/truck and drive down for the weekend. It starts Jan 10 and ends 19th, 2003. I was thinking of going on leaving on the 17th in the morning and attend the show on Saturday the 18th and 19th. We could stay in Windsor, Ontairo Canada which would probably be cheaper and safer.

Looking to go the weekend of 17-19... Staying 1 or 2 nights.... If we get 2 people per room, it will be about 50$/night. Renting a vehicle will be the only pricing thing... But I need to know how many people are in before we start making prices...

I'm in for sure - I have nothing going on and it is something I've always wanted to do. We need to have 100% for sure answers only. We have to get this planned right if we're going to have a good time and not one where we're chasing our tails the whole time. Sorry for being so emphatic, but one of my biggest pet peeves is poor planning. If my disorganized arse can have my $hit together then I expect everyone else can as well. Let's do this !!!! Oh yeah - Kevlar vests are optional but encouraged.;)

I think we all should go to the tokyo auto saloon sometime, I'm out btw saving up for this summer when me and some buddies are going to vegas for the national supra meet

We need to start crunching some more numbers... Chris, maybe you can crunch some more number so we have a better idea how much it would cost for 5-6 people...

I dont mean to sound like a bummer but this isn't a school trip. We are crossing the state line and boarder and going into Canada. Your still a Minor so I am not sure that I would feel comfortable taking you. It would be a big responsibility to take on. Not that you would cause problems but all the same I would not like to worry about that.

Getting you into movies is completely different ball game. That I and other things we have no problem with and its great when you do come out. But I am afraid that this trip with the club would be out of the question unless you had an adult family member to come with you.

Just an FYI, that I spoke to James and he might be in... he has to see if he can get the day off and he might be able to get a discount at Enterprise (since his dad works there).
