I was gonna post something on here about going to Mardi Gras here in St. Louis and it just made this horrible thought run through my head, yet gave me a great idea as well (although it's probably a little late for this year). We should be in the parade (<-- the great idea part). After all, why couldn't we be in it when all of those nasty Hardly Davidson motorcycles are in it every year? (and yes, I know that I misspelled Hardly) Anyway, it just crossed my mind so I thought that I'd blurt it out and see what people said about it.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was going after. I think it would be fun......that, along with the fact that it's usually kinda cold out and we'd be inside a nice warm car.
Thanks Laura. :)

How much and how many does he have room for? What I was REALLY meaning (which I think you already know this) was that the club should be in the parade, with our cars.

I don't think our cars will be in 'show condition' to participate in any parades in February... :D
This is the email he sent out...
Join Krewe de Carouse for Soulard’s 25th Mardi Gras parade on February 21st. We currently have openings for 14 people on this year’s float which will have the theme “Eat Me in St. Louis”.
The cost is $55 per person, to cover costs of construction, port-a-potty, truck rental, entry fee, and a Mardi Gras party after the parade is complete.
You will need to purchase your own beads, and we will try to purchase them in bulk to save money.
The Krewe will meet several times between now and the big day to talk about Float design and costume requirements.
Let me know if you are interested in an opportunity for lots of fun and carousing (adults preferred, given the possible crowd nudity). Feel free to forward this on to anyone you think may be interested.
Cheers,
Michael

Hmmm...$55 for this? And we need to purchase our own beads?

Ok, so is anyone interested in going down? My brother and I usually make a full day out of this. We get up early and eat breakfast and start drinking usually around 8am on the way to breakfast. You don't have to get up that early if you don't want but if you'd like to go, let me know and we can make arrangements to hook up somewhere. It's a blast. If you've never been then you really need to check it out.

Depending on when I get back from the 100-Acre Woods Rally event Friday-Saturday, I might meet you guys somewhere. Unless, you guys are so tanked, you can't get me decent directions to find you. :P

Ok, well, keep posting if you're interested. I'll be working out the details of who is going and when and where we can/could meet. I typically start early with some breakfast. Gotta get some food in before you start pouring liquor in. Also, you HAVE to get down there early to park anywhere near the parade. If you're not there by 10am, you'll be walking awhile. The parade is fun but walking around up through Soulard afterwards is the best part. You don't HAVE to drink to go down there and have fun but you can't be easily offended either by some of the stuff that goes on down there. More than likely, there WILL be nudity. (thank God it won't be me though!)

Do you know of any parking lots close that are free or not 10 dollars cause I got screwed last year on parking
Keith

Let's take as few cars as possible... and we'll chip in on parking.

Oh yes, definitely we want as few people to drive as possible. We just need to make sure of everyone's agenda before we get down there. We don't want a bunch of people going that are planning on staying all day and night until whenever and have them ride with someone that wants to go home at noon or whatever. That's all. Also, be thinking about how to carry your drinks or how much money to bring. You aren't allowed to have coolers or cans or bottles. You can have alcohol as long as it's in a plastic cup of some sort or a thermos. I'm trying to find someone that might want to stock up a vehicle full of drinks and food and go down VERY early that morning and leave it close to the parade route.

So did anyone else have fun at Mardi Gras??? I know I did. I paid for it on Sunday though. I'm actually kinda glad that nobody else from the club stayed around. I had a little TOO good of a time at a party down there put on by the Point. Hopefully nobody was taking pictures. :)
