most SS luders on po.com say that pullies are the best bang for the buck!

I know how much TPC members get them for :)
I'm getting a set of AEM pullies soon.
the AEM alternator pulley will cause ur car to idle a little lower than usual, and also dim ur lights abit at idle (especially if u got a boomin system)
do a search on po.com cuz there's lots of info on the different types of pullies.

Little cousin you still won't be able to catch up to me what ever you do. hehe. Anyway here is the order I recomend
Intake
Exhaust
Header
Pullies
VAFC
We did some VAFC but tunning last week with Placid and it realy made a difference. The butt dyno gave thumbs up. Now are cars are stick. I don't know how these mods respond with the auto.

Is it true or not that headers on 5th gen dont really do all that much??? unless u get a mugen??

from my own experence, i would say,
1. intake(CAI)
2. VAFC (cheaper than a good exhaust system, and help low end alot)
3. exhaust, cat-back
4. header
5. pulleys
but the way i see it, i'd do suspension first...
much more gain for the money.

From my observations, I would get the VAFC after intake and exhaust. I have helped my friend install and tune the VAFC just recently, and suprisingly, I can feel a good noticeable difference throughouit the powerband after leaning out the fuel by 5-6% average. The most noticeable increase is the midrange RPM's, and I was amazed that it removed the throlttle sluggishness that the stock Ludes have. The VAFC improved by a much greater margin compared to my GSR when I had my VAFC (at the early stages).

I have a brand new Apex-i VAFC in the box i bought this winter, i need to install it, i don't think its very difficult with the wiring diagram. Thoughts?? suggestions??
Also, i have AEM pullies installed right now, and I HATE THEM,
they make my lights dim soooooo much, i don't know if it's just my car, my system, or what but I really can't stand them any longer. If im idled for let's say 20 minutes, my lights will start to flicker and my radio will start reseting?????
The moral of this rant is that im going to be putting them up for sale soon.
Any info about the VAFC is appreciated.

It's your system. The idle drawbacks are normal and I remember warning you during your install and others before that that your aftermarket system might be the cause of problems.
On a side note I would leave the VAFC for last. Actually I happened to get it first of all but that was because the deal was too sweet to give up on. You'll get most out of the VAFC once all bolt-ons are complete.

I'm interested in the VAFC but I'm a little nervous about the install, as well as, tunning. Is this something relatively easy to install and tune or should I get a professional to do the install and tune? I'd hate to f*&k something up.
In regards to the pullies, what if you purchased a capacitor and a second battery for your aftermarket system. Would this help with the dimming of the lights, etc.....?

Long time so see Matt!
D-Man, the install isn't hard at all. You just need the necessary electrical connectors, and a wiring diagram from Apexi's website. You basically locate the correct wire, and tap it. Some require splicing into it, but it is all shown on the wiring diagram.
IMO, the VAFC is a tuning device, so it doesn't matter whether your car is lightly modded, or with all the bolt-ons in the world. You will get a bigger increase at once with more bolt-ons, but with the VAFC, you get more increase from each bolt-on. At the very end, there's no difference. If you get the VAFC at the early stages, you get a chance to max out every bolt-on you install on your car

VAFC is definitely worth the money, atleast for preludes.
after AEM CAI, i lose some noticeable low end power, but after the VAFC, i found lean out(i think i leand out 3~4%) at low rpms gives those lost power back if not more than before.
If you are not sure how to do the installation or not confident to do it yourself, you can contact BB1-4WS(aka Vince) he did mine, very clean and solid job.
