Hey Gang,

Was debating on whether to purchase DC CC 4-2-1 headers for my 5th gen. From what I have seen on other cars, there is only a 1-2HP gain with these headers. Given the cost to purchase and install, are they worth it?

I have an intake/exhaust and would like to know where to spend my next $$$$ ( on go, not show or grip).

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

We've had a bunch of contradicitng info about this. What seems to be most accurate account comes form Frank (98SH) who actually did some dyno testing.

The DC headers got him more horespower (I can't remember the actually number but it was (If he's reading maybe he can shed some light and we'll pop it into the FAQ) But if I remember correctly where it did make the difference was in the torque.

I know on the SR there is a definate and very noticible increase in power at about 4500 rpm.. but that's not answering youre question

I think aftermarket headers for a 5th gen lude are more looks rather than performance. Have you ever seen the rusted oem headers that are on our cars, gross!!!!!

from what I know if your setup is I/H/E your engine is gonna be running lean... in order to get max potential out of your engine I think you're gonna need a fuel pressure regulator to get more fuel into your combustion chamber...

if u got the intake and the exhaust... get the headers too.
it WILL help, maybe not much but it will
and as mentioned.... it looks way better

I like how B&M and other manufacturers of these products promote this fact. Though I feel it only happens to carberated vehicles that don't use sensors. Fuel injected cars use MAP sensors or MAF meters to account for how much air is going into the engine. The computer should compensate for whatever slight change these mods will give you.

However, FPR's are good for tuning camgears.

And the little Fuel Pressure Guage looks cool in the engine bay!

I got the DC's and All I can say is that I'm happy with them. I'll be putting the lude on the Dyno soon.

Dude, it's wrong to talk about derek's dirty pipe.

I have the headers but I got a good deal for them...I wouldn't buy them brand new ever unless I had a turbo or something that warranted a higher outgoing velocity...
