Hope that you are ready to say good bye to your cruiser...once you run a sport bike for a while...you'll wonder how you went without.

Not the first year of fuel injection on the CBR's. Just the first year for fuel injection on the 600. Honda made the 600F4 in 99 and 2000 but neither model was fuel-injected. Of Honda's modern fuel-injected bikes, the CBR1100XX was the first, coming in 1999. Next came the CBR929RR (which I owned) coming in 2000. The Interceptor got fuel injection around 2000 as well. The 600 was the last to get it. Just useless information, I know. But I'm full of it so I thought I'd share. If I only knew how to post a pic on this damn site....

Northern RR is right though, I'd be shocked if you ever went back to the cruiser...unless you're REALLY into comfort over fun-factor. You'll be bored on the cruiser once you've ridden the F4i. Whatever discomfort you may run into (which shouldn't be much) on the F4i, it will be well worth it due to the amount of pleasure you'll get from riding it. Plus, Mandy will look better on it should she ever decide to go with you. :D

This is so not a starter bike.

It all just kinda depends on who you talk to really. 600's USED TO BE good bikes to learn on. Now they've evolved into some pretty powerful machines in relation to their relatively small displacement. If you've never owned or operated a street bike, you may have the misconception that, just because it's "only" a 600, that it's a good starter bike. In fact, I personally would NOT recommend a current 600 for someone to own as their first bike and/or learn on. With the person in question, it's a great choice to get into the sportbike arena. Al has owned several bikes and has ample experience riding to support this 600. My first streetbike was actually a 97 CBR600F3. It was pretty nice to learn on. It had some weight but plenty of power to pull it. It was plenty to hurt you but not so much as to get away from you without some trying. Regardless, they're nice bikes. My two cents though in reference to Cory's statement is: I disagree. But that's what is so nice about this country. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions.

What i was trying to say is that it's the perfect size and power.. i mean when i get a bike in a few years, im going to get a 600, i know it will be quite powerfull, but thats all i need, most of the people out there with the 1000cc or more bikes, they are just to powerful for there own good. a 600cc bike is all I will ever need.
Al, i wasnt implying that this was your first bike, or that you couldnt handle more, i just dont want you to get hurt, yah know. i love you.

Too bad I didnt get to see that Al! I could have test drove it for you:

Me: Can I take it for a spin.
Seller: Sure, here ya go.
Me: [Gets on bike, puts on helmet] So first is all the way down, then the rest are all up?

Should be a fun bike, just be careful!
