Went on my first long ride yesterday with some friends that have bikes. We rode out through Augusta to Washington. Weather was great and there were tons of people riding out there! Going through town in Augusta was like harley biker gang haven, at least 100 bikes there. It was also funny passing some kid doing well over 100mph, waving at us and then a cop flying after him about 20 seconds later...yea he got away lol. I can't believe it took me this long to start riding! Now Mook's will be here Thursday so that makes 7 of us with bikes, nice little riding group for sure.

You ever try to take pics on a twisty road with one hand? Its not easy. :)

Yesterday was perfect riding weather. I'm about done with riding fast through the twisties, though. Too much damn risk.

lol there isnt really much room for a camera, I would've liked to though the scenery is gorgeous out there. It was my bike, tyler's 06 gsxr, and eric's 06 triumph daytona. 3 hott ass bikes :D

Get one Clark!

I hear ya Al, the twisties are sooo much fun but it is a little dangerous. My friend Tyler rides pretty hard but I kept it at 60mph or below for the most part.

Anytime you want to go on a "more relaxed" (read: old person) ride, let me know. I'm always down for riding through augusta.

I'd probably just buy a new 600 if I were you. The 600's are running mid-high 10's nowadays...thats pretty damn fast. Here is a really good article on the 2007 shootout for all the 600's.

I would freakin love to buy a new one, but I wont be able to buy new and pay for insurance. Im only lookin to spend like 3k to 3500 on the bike, and pay for the insurance. Its gonna be through the roof for me.

yea, mine is only $25 a month but you being only 17 might be pretty rough. You should probably just wait on one. Honestly I think the legal driving age for a streetbike should be 21 anyway.

Well, I just got a quote from Geico for $62 bucks a month, compaired to the 2000+ a year from Progressive. Who do you use?

I guess i'd just buy a slightly used 07 600 for like 5000 and just take out a loan.

Where are you finding 07's for $5000? Or do you mean 5k cash plus a loan?

Well, im just estimating that id maybe get it for around 5000. I was lookin around on ebay today for it and some guy had a buy it now for 5750 and the bidding was around 4200 with 3 days left or something. I don't know what the milage is, but it was an 07.

Please do not buy a 750 as your first bike at the age of 17. Trust me. I assume you have never put your leg over a motorcycle. You have no idea.

I know suzuki's tend to run the cheapest of the group but I can't imagine one going that cheap. Look on craigslist for comparison on prices. Just be careful on what you buy bro...dont want to have a "lemon" separating you from the pavement at 100mph.

No doubt! And I hardly think i'd go 100. Trust me, i've heard it all from my parents.

And the decision wont even be considered until I have the required funds, which will be like April.
