hello. after years of browsing stlprelude and now hacstl, i figured that it would be about time to join. my name's lance and currently my shift key on my keyboard is broken. i know quite a few people on here but jimmy (dubbs) is who i see the most. im a mod on stlsubaru and joined to clarify that we too have stories about "fourth gear" aka josh-but its all in good fun. i enjoy fast boats with big blocks and my friends.

i drive a 2004 subaru sti with minimal mods.

Yeah, Import Alliance. Probably the largest import meet of the year in the midwest. Let's just say, there were 1200 cars last year, and this year was bigger.

4th gear makes me giggle too...Jimmy and I went down to Import Alliance, hopefully someone uploads there pictures in a few hours..but also did a few laps around the track with a full car and all of our luggage.

Well last summer Randy and Ryan Jewell co-purchased a boat, 1994 Rinker open bow. We spent as many weekends on the river as possible, boozn and such. I grew up around late 70's jet boats and have always wanted one. So I bought the Sleekcraft this May for a grand... lacking interior, drive cables, connections, pretty much how you see it above. I just reupholstered the foam and built new seat bottoms... Carpeted it, re-wired, installed a rudder, some hull work, bilge, had the carb refreshed (secondaries were frozen). Just need fuel lines, blow out my gas tanks, and bolt the seats in..and off we go. I will post new pictures when I get home. Those were taken in May.

Prior to the early 90's
Most race/hot boats were either LHD or center driven unless it is a prop drive...then the thrust produced by the prop has a tendency to lift the right side of the boat. In order to counteract the thrust, the driver sits on the right (especially in ski boats to create an even plane).

however, by the late 80's ...everything was converted to RHD unless special ordered.
