Need Gear Advice

So i'm not sure what brands are really good brands. I don't want to go cheap on protective gear so I wanna know what brands are good. I'm looking around on newenough.com right now and this is what i've found so far

I'm getting a helmet from the guy i'm buying the bike from. Would you guys recommend getting anything else?

Tour Master, Icon, AplineStars, Joe Rocket, and Teknic are just a few of the name brands for gear. I personally dorn a TM mesh jacket and AS gloves.

The most important features of a jacket to look for are reinforced 'crash' zones which are typically your joints (elbows, shoulders, spine), cooling/venting and comfort.

Depending on whether you want leather or textile, for textile check the denier ratings of the materials, higher the better. Mesh jackets are great for warm to hot days with great air circulation. Semi-mesh, textile and leather will get you sweating on those hotter days but keep you warm on the cool journeys. I went with a mesh jacket that had 2 liners: a windbreaker and a quilted insulator, of which you can wear one, the other or both. These two additional liners really make the jacket a year-round option.

Gloves are a similar concept. They make ones that breathe well for those hot days but the cold air of a fall ride can make your fingers quite chilly/frozen.
