still having some trouble

ok, so I have some issues still with the hatchback. It was recently rebuilt. Now has 150 miles on it. the car dies at stopsigns or when I come to a stop. the motor doesnt really bog down, just dies. I have oil coming from the dipstick tube and also from the hose that goes from valve cover to my intake.
You can run the car for a while but sometimes it will just die. I have blue smoke coming from my tailpipe, was just curious if maybe my rings havn't gotten good enough time to seat. or maybe the valves havn't seated properly. Any help would be great.

Re: still having some trouble

dipstick tube oil is probably just a leak.. you can jbweld that up..

how much oil is coming through the breather tube on the valve cover? shouldn't be much going through there on a new motor I wouldn't think..

Re: still having some trouble

If you have oil comming out the dipstick tube you have excessive blow by and most likely a ring issue. Is it actually pushing the dipstick tube out? If so you have big problems.

Re: still having some trouble

ok. so i forked out some cash and went to autozone and bought a compression tester. all cyl. have good comp. except for #1 its at 40 the rest were at around 170ish. guess the rings on #1 are messed up. hopefully didn't marr up the cyl. walls. maybe this is what was killing my car? hopefully i don't have to get her honed out again..... thanks for the quick replies though guys.
