Oil scare! part II

I usually go my oil changes at home with my bad. This morning drove home from my girlfriends' which is a mile away from my apartment. Wheni got home it smelled like it was burning. Wasnt a "big" scare b/c my lude has been leaking oil for 2 years.

However I popped the hood, and the dip stick was bone dry. Long story short, after adding 1 qt and obserivng the leak...noticed it was a problem. The Jiffy Lube down here in FL is called Tire Kingdom. They suck. 2 hours for an oil change when I knew the problem was more severe than a simple oil change.

Is it a cracked oil filter housing? One of the guys thinks it's a bad o ring from the oil pressure _____ to the oil filter housing, which attaches to the bottom end. He mentioned something of an oil pressure mechanism, not sure of exact terminology.

Gonna tow to Honda most likely. Oil is life blood of the engine

Re: Oil scare! part II

the oil pressure switch has a metal washer.. likely not leaking.. it is probably the oil filter itself or the o-ring on the cooler like the other oil scare person's..

That's why I used to take the civic to honda when I lived in the apartment. It was only 5 bucks more than goofy lube.
